Gorby's struggle against his disease -1
Gorby had been suffering with uveitis on his left eye and had kept taking steroid for two years and a half to control the symptom. Then since March his condition had aggravated.... I consulted with the vet many times. The vet couldn't cure it.
In May, pus came out from Gorby's eye. The vet said his eye will not regain eyesight and his eye is actually rotten due to infection because he has been taking steroid so that he has weak immune. He also says it is better to have enucleation of the eyeball.
There was no choice for us but to have the surgery. I was introduced a ophthalmologist vet ( by the old vet) and I asked this new ophthalmologist to conduct the surgery.
Since then I gradually reduced the dosage of steroid to prepare the surgery.
The result of an analysis on pus shows that his eye was deeply infected by salmonella!!!(????)I have no idea how can an eye be infected such a bacteria without having food poisoning at all and while he stayed at home or had occasional visit to the vet.
The night before he had the surgery I made several sketches of him, the last time I was able to draw him with his both eyes.
