This is the first station, Shinagawa-jyuku. Hiroshige Utagawa wrote the picture which showed the sea on the left side and the road on the right side. Of course, nowadays we can’t see the sea.  I visited the information center. I asked a staff where Hiroshige had drew from. She answered he did not draw in this place, it seems that he drew around Sengakuji. However, she taught me a neighborhood anchorage. There was a quiet and I became feeling calm.  第一宿、品川です。 北品川の駅を降り、旧東海道に入りました。広重の絵では左側に海、右側に道がありますが、現在は当然のことながら海は見えません。時折、懐かしい古い店を見ながら通りを進み、品川宿交流館という案内所を訪れました。そこを入ると駄菓子屋（？）で店の方に色々お話を聞くと、広重の絵はどうやら泉岳寺あたりから描いたもので品川ではないらしいです。 とはいえ、この辺りに海が見えるところをと聞くと、品川浦船だまりを教えてくれました。行ってみるとなんとなく広重の絵に近い構図が取れそうだったので描いてみました。 ここは屋形船やプレジャーボートの停泊地で、穏やかなところでした。 There is the Shinaumi Park in the middle of the shopping street.
