今月も運よくお天気に恵まれた月例USkJスケッチ会。5回目にして初めて東京を出て、横浜まで足を伸ばしました！11時、桜木町駅前にぞろぞろと参加者が集まります。（今回も皆さんの写真をお借りしてお届けします。） May's Urban Sketch Meet-Up in Yokohama was blessed with an amazing weather as well as the last one. It was the first time to go out of Tokyo for our monthly sketching. At 11, sketchers were gathering at Sakuragicho Station. 集合写真。ちょっと少なめに見えますが、遅れて来る方も多く、今回も最終的には15人くらいはいたような気がする。 It looks like we were rather a small group this time, but some came late and I guess we had about 15 in total, including familiar and new friends. まず赤レンガ倉庫までみんなで歩いてきて、びっくり。なんのイベントもなく、とっても広々。こんな赤レンガはめったに見られませんね。この週末は世界トライアスロンが開催されており、前日18日(土)はここもコースの一部になっていました。当日19日(日)はコースが撤去され、珍しくまっさらで見通しのいい赤レンガをスケッチすることができました。 First, we walked to the Red Brick Warehouse and got surprised how empty it was. There was no event happening, no tent there, which is quite rare. World Triathlon was taking place that weekend and the warehouse was included in its course on 18th, the previous day of the meet-up

I went to see and sketch Kanda matsuri, one of the most famous festivals held in Tokyo. I feel thrilled when seeing people wear traditional uniform and make roar to cheer the mood, but at the same time I feel myself a bit foreign because such tradition isn't so incorporated in my daily life. So I observe with eye of stranger who see every detail curiously. Moving people is one difficult subject but I enjoy capturing them as playing a game. After that, I completed my second yet quite important mission of the day. To find some delicious food ( delicacy sold only such event location) in the booths. I had large portion of sliced beef tang and turban shell. Satisfied!

In order not to collide with the event, we've changed the entire plan. 令和初スケッチ会は戸越銀座。行ったのも初。ノスタルジックな商店街は散策していても楽しい。狭い路地で、さて、どういう描き方がいいだろうかと、あれやこれや試してみたくなり、最初に入ったお好み焼きやさんでは絵の具の色だしのためしがきした紙切れにざっくりとペンで描いてみた。次に、万年筆（耐水性ではないインク）を使って、線画を描き、後から水彩で多少の色付けと、滲みを使った陰影表現を試みてみた。次は、水彩で色面だけざっくりと追いかけ、そのあとにブラシペンの太いラインで描き込んでみた。最後はDrink ＆Drawの時間、いつものようにいきなり水彩のなぐりがきスケッチ。今回も参加者が大勢で（新しく参加した人、馴染みの人、海外から来た人）様々な作風、視点が見られた会になりました。 This was my first visit to Togoshi Ginza, Tokyo. As is always the case unless someone suggest to visit for sketching there, I wouldn't have had chance to be there. Thanks to Momoko-san and Toriumi-san who organized this meet-up. This time I experimented various ways. 1st, I used a paper which I preliminary painted with color lines, then drew with black pen. 2nd, I used fountain pen with non-water proof ink so when I added detail with watercolor it bled.
