Urban Sketchers Tokyoへ名称変更のお知らせ 皆さんこんにちは！本日はグループの名称について大事なお知らせがあります。  これまでUrban Sketchers Japanという名称で活動してきましたが、2024年1月1日よりUrban Sketchers Tokyoに改名することにいたしました。 理由としては、主に2つあります。1つは、もともとUrban Skethchersの支部は「都市」ごとに存在するべきもので、国名を冠することは好ましくない、ということ。もう1つは、まるで日本全体を包括するグループのように見えて、実際のUrban Sketchers Japanの活動はほぼ東京およびその近郊に集中しており、日本全体の活動の管理やサポートはできないこと。この2点を踏まえて、私たちはグループ名を、よりUSkのコンセプトと私たちの活動の実情に忠実な、Urban Sketchers Tokyoを今後は使用していきたいと思います。 しかし、活動内容自体は当面これまでと変わりません。Tokyoを名乗っていますが、スケッチ会は周辺の千葉県や神奈川県を含めて行う可能性がありますし、それらの周辺エリアからの参加者も引き続きUSk Tokyoのメンバーとして活動を続けていければ幸いです。  また、この改名を機に、日本国内の別の都市でも独立したUrban Skethcersの支部が発足されることを期待しています。日本には東京以外にもたくさんスケッチしがいのある風景や街並みがあります。ぜひ各地のスケッチャーの皆様、ご自身の街でスケッチ好き、スケッチに興味のある人を集めて、スケッチ会を企画してください！そうすれば自ずと日本各都市での支部発足につながり、国内のアーバンスケッチ文化はますます発展していくはずです。  今後、東京で描いたスケッチやグループのスケッチ会でのスケッチは、ハッシュタグ #usktokyo をつけてSNSに投稿してください。どうぞよろしくお願いします。 --- Urban Sketchers Tokyo Name Change Announcement Hello everyone! We have an important announcement to make about the group's name today. 

photo by Lavinia Elysia Hey everyone! Guess what? We had a surprise crowd at today's sketch meetup! 8 awesome people showed up, which was way more than I expected. This was my first time at Shinjuku Gyoen, and wow, it's like a giant lullaby in park form. First thing I did was plop down on that huge lawn like a beached starfish. I could've easily napped for hours before even thinking about sketching! Even when I finally got started, this little voice kept whispering in my head: "Sleep… sleep… sleep…"  Seriously, if you're ever feeling sleep-deprived, this park is the cure. Sunshine, fresh air, and instant recharge guaranteed!  And a huge welcome to our newest member, Ayumu-san from Nepal!  He's not only our international friend, but also a super talented architect.
