I stayed in Melbourne, Australia, at the end of September for a holiday. As an urban sketcher, what was the first thing I did when I decided to have this trip? of course, contacting the local USk group. 9月末に休暇をとり、オーストラリアはメルボルンに行ってきました。この旅行が決まったとき、わたしが最初にしたことはなんでしょう？はい、そうです！現地のUSkグループにコンタクトすること。 I joined Melbourne USk's Facebook group and posted to tell I was visiting the city. A bunch of members commented and a few said they were joining me. It was surprising, but I felt so happy and welcome even though I hadn't gone there yet. This is the great thing about the community––we have a global network of people with the same passion and you can find some of them almost everywhere in the world. 先日、仕事で金沢まで行ってきた。 地理的センスゼロなので、車で金沢まで行って欲しい、という依頼があったとき、何も考えず「イイッスヨ」とか言っちゃった。出発数日前にググったら所要時間６時間ちょっとって出てビックリした。 The other day, I visited Kanazawa for work. Having literally zero geographic sense, when I was asked to drive to Kanazawa, I said "sure!".  However, when I googled the route and it said it takes 6 hours and a bit, I was like Uh, oh... そんなワケで、つりやゴルフへ行く人みたいに４時半とかに起きて出発さ！ 行けども行けども続く道、いやぁ、ひたすら走ってるはずなのに、時計を見るとまだ７時半とか。はぁ！？時間おかしくないか？！って。 So anyway, I woke up around 4:30am just like CEO of Apple and started driving! Felt like driving for hours but the clock said it's still 7:30am and I was like Whattt?! Is Time distorted?!  まぁ、そんな事はいいや。 Anyway... 金沢に到着して驚いたのは、その活気！！ １０年くらい前にも仕事で来た事があったんだけど、その時は全然盛ってない田舎町だった記憶があって。でも2015年に北陸新幹線が開通してから劇的に変わったみたい。駅も観光客だらけ！滞在したホテルも外国人観光客ばかり！！土地から出るエネルギーみたいなものが、全く別物でした。 仕事で行っているので観光する時間はなかったけど、ホテルのラウンジが予想外にいい雰囲気。まるで外国のホテルみたいだったので、ビールなんか飲みつつスケッチをしました。 The thing that struck me the most when I arrived ...

Hi Everyone! Last week I was honoured to do a practice in Kyoto Imperial gardens as a student of Horticulture department of Chiba University . Oh, basically, we collected old leaves and turned over the stones in the atmosphere temperature 35 C (feels like 38) and humidity 67%. In between I made some sketches about our work and Kyoto.
