Image

Sketch experiments

Image
News from a Japanese Neighbourhood  Association community center where I am living.  Today I did a sketch on a cardboard. Then Decided to put some paper with glue stick. Application! And added details by crayon pencils and gel pen. I was happy with result. On the picture: Kotatsu table, which me and Charlie found in University's garbage and bring here.  My accordion. Blue zabuton seats of Iwase.  Old Brother printer, got broken last week.  Calendar for 2017, which I bring from University library.  Book shelf, which we received from local person.  Now we will collect books and toys on this shelf for common use. Took me around 30 mins to do this by mixed technic.  I was also trying to draw by ink brush. It is fast, compare to my usual pencil and watercolor only. Here is latest sketches of visitors of Iwase Neighbourhood Association and meetings of it's managers.

Another day in Matsudo

Image
Let me continue my Matsudo story. This is the sketch from around the place I live. You can see Seitoku University on the hill. I live down that hill in a community centre (自治会館) ,  called Iwase (岩瀬). Red post box, where I sent postcards to friends abroad, little park and notifications board, everything is familiar here to me and part of my daily life. While drawing I met local people and talk to them.

Hiking and sketching on Mt. Takao

Image
This was my first time visiting Mount Takao . I knew it is not so far from my place but I have never headed to that direction until today. I'm glad I visited there. I took a cable car half way to the summit but when I went down, I walked all the way. I usually don't exercise very much therefore this was pretty good training to me. Unfortunately I was not able to see Mt. Fuji that day, it was too cloudy.(it must be seen when it is sunny) This place is famous for the beauty of autumn foliage. I definitely love to visit there again. After climbing, I put up my portable easel and made a quick sketch of a temple called “Yakuo-in” using crayons on the B2 illustration board.( See?, I brought these heavy equipment that day!)

Tokyo Camii

Image

35th WWSC Tokyo

Image
