「東海道五十三次、広重と同じ風景が見たい」、今回は第十三宿、原です。沼津から西へ車で10分ほどのところです。広重も湿地と鶴、向こう側に大きく富士山を描いています。 "I sketch the 53 views in Tokaido, which Hiroshige drew”  This is the thirteenth station, Hara-jyuku. It took about 10 minutes by car from Numazu. Hiroshige Utagawa drew this swamp, cranes in the foreground and Mt.fuji in the background.  まず、とりあえず旧東海道を歩き、広重と同じ場所を探しました。しかし、歩けど歩けど、同じような湿地が見えるところはすでに無くなっていましたので、地図で浮島ヶ原という広重も描いた湿地帯を見つけ向かいました。そこはただの沼地でバードウォッチャーが何人かいるだけのところでした。向こう側には山の裾野の部分だけ見せている富士山。早速描き始めました。描き終えようとしたくらいに雲が流れ、隠れていた部分が現れ始めました、ただし本来そこにある山の中腹からそびえる富士の美しい形ではなく、ただのなだらかな形の山でした。はっきり言ってかなり驚きました。 First, while I walked old Tolaido street, I looked for the same place where Hiroshige drew. "I sketch the 53 views in Tokaido, which Hiroshige drew”  This is the twelve station, Numazu-jyuku. First, I visited the Numazu port where is a lot of restaurants. I had sashimi of local kingfisher, fried shrimp and simmered fish with local sake. They tasted great. Next day, I walked along the river called Karino-gawa river to Kurose-bashi bridge in the morning. I was able to see the colourful autumn leaves mountain. When I almost finished the sketch, it began to rain. My sketchbook was patched with rain stain. "I sketch the 53 views in Tokaido, which Hiroshige drew”  This is the eleven station, Mishima-jyuku. I started JR Mishima station to the Mishima shrine where Hiroshige drew. On the way, the Mishima Food festival was held in Shirataki-Koen park. I bought an Unagi-bento and a Mishima croquette. They were inexpensive and very delicious. After that, I arrived at the Mishima shrine and I saw a Trii gate. I sketched it immediately. Then, I strolled and I saw another big and great Trii gate. In fact, this gate was the really front gate. I was a little shocked. 「東海道五十三次、広重と同じ風景が見たい」、今回は第十一宿、三島です。JR三島駅を降りて、広重が描いた三嶋大社をめざします。途中、白滝公園でフードフェスティバルをやっていて三島名物のうなぎ弁当やみしまコロッケを購入。ボリュームも満点で大変美味しくいただきました。せせらぎが美しい桜川沿いを歩いたら、三嶋大社の鳥居が見えてきました。ここだと思い、さっそくスケッチ。ざっと描き上げ散歩。よく見ると、正面は別の場所に。より大きく立派な鳥居があり、私が描いたのは、実は裏門でした。ちょっとショック。 the front gate

「東海道五十三次、広重と同じ風景が見たい」、今回は第三宿、神奈川です。横浜駅から東側に歩いて10分ほどのところに旧街道があり,広重は台町の茶屋を描いています。当時は急な坂道にいくつもの茶屋が連なっていて、そこからは海が見えたようで、今の横浜駅は海だったそうです。現在は田中屋という料亭が一件だけ残っているだけですが、今でも有名らしくこのスケッチをしている間にも七五三などのお祝いで会食する人たちが訪れていました。 "I sketch the 53 views in Tokaido, which Hiroshige drew”  This is the third station, Kanagawa-jyuku. There is an old road about 10 minutes from JR Yokohama station. About 180 years ago, Hiroshige Utagawa drew restaurants in Daimachi. There were some restaurants along the steep slope. You could see the sea in restaurants. Nowadays, there is only one restaurant named Tanakaya. It seems to be popular to local people. 久しぶりの「東海道五十三次、広重と同じ風景が見たい」です。7月7日七夕の日、神奈川県平塚市で有名な七夕祭りがあり、朝から行ってきました。関東地方での七夕祭りでは最大規模だそうで、七夕飾りが数百本とかなり大掛かりで、すごい人出でした。午前中にスケッチをした時はなんとかベンチを確保し、描くことができましたが、昼になると人が多すぎてスケッチどころではありませんでした。ちなみにベンチに座りながらおきまりの焼きそばとビールをいただきましたが、その焼きそばはイカ墨で味付けされていて、真っ黒な焼きそばでしたが、すごく美味しかったです。真っ黒な焼きそばはなかなか絵にならなかったので描いてません。 July 7, 2019, Sunday, my wife and I had a wonderful experience. We went to see the Shounan Hiratsuka Tanabata Festival. There were excellent several hundred of the Tanabata decorations and lots of people in spite of poor weather. We found the bench and sketched amazing decorations in the crowd. By the way, I bought a cup of beer and a fried noodle named Yakisoba. This yakisoba didn’t only season with Worcester sauce, but also with squid ink. It showed black but tasted good. This is the 53rd station, Otsu-jyuku. My wife and I visited some stations during new year holidays as my hometown is Kyoto. Otsu-Jyuku is the last station in Tokaido. Hiroshige Utagawa painted the Hashirii-Chaya where was the pass near Kyoto. There were some teahouses along the street. However, there was the temple named Gesshin-Ji nowadays, the gate lamp said “Hashirii". 第五十三、大津宿です。実家が京都なので、年末の帰省に合わせていくつか宿を回ってきました。東海道最後の宿場の大津です。広重が描いたのは京都よりの峠の走井茶屋という場所で、当時は何件も茶屋が並んでいたみたいですが、今は月心寺になっていて、門灯に走井の文字だけが残っていました。 The well which water was overflowing from on the left side of the painting of Hiroshige. There was the well in the temple. This is the 22nd station, Fujieda-jyuku. My wife and I stayed at the hotel near JR Shimada station. The last day of the holiday, I headed to Fujieda city in the morning. There were few historical building or something. Hiroshige Utagawa painted Jinba-Tsugitate which means distribution point.  However, this place is a parking lot and a police station now. 第二十二、藤枝宿です。三連休の三日目、前日はJR島田駅の近くで宿を取り、朝早くに藤枝に向かいました。旧東海道沿いの藤枝には当時のものはあまり残されておらず、広重が描いた人馬継立という荷物を運んでくれる人足や馬がいるところは、駐車場と交番になっていました。 I found a sweet shop between big houses when I walked the main street. It was jam and baked sweet shop named Tori-Dori. Birds are used for the logo. There were various bottles of jam and I bought a seasonal product, a yuzu jam. This is the 23rd station, Shimada-Jyuku. My wife and I crossed the Oi-gawa river by using a big bridge instead of wading across a river. We went to Shimada-Jyuku form Kanaya-Jyuku. There was an old street named Kawagoe-Iseki-Machinami near the Oigawa river. There were  few  tourists and made it feel like I went into the historical drama. Shimada-Shi museum was next to the embankment. We could know the history of Kawagoe-Ninsoku in considerable detail. By the way, Japanese traditional women’s hairstyle called Shimada-Mage is known for Bunkin-Takashimada started from Shimada-Jyuku. -This is the first time I heard- 第二十三、島田宿です。金谷宿から大井川を 川越人足とではなく、 橋を使って渡り、そのまま島田宿に行きました。大井川の近くに大井川 川越遺跡街並みがあり、当時の街並みが再現されています。観光客も少なく時代劇のなかに入った気持ちになります。堤防の横には島田市博物館があり、かなり詳細に川越人足の歴史を知ることができます。 ちなみに文金高島田などの島田髷はこの島田宿から始まったそうです。（初めて知った！） Next to the museum, There was a big pine tree called  Asagao and an explanatory monument was built. This is the 24th station, Kanaya-Jyuku. My wife and I visited there after Kakegawa-Jyuku. First, we went to the Shin-Kanaya rail station because many tourist information center at a station has  Jyuku information. To my surprise, we could see a steam locomotive. It sounded a whistle and rising smoke. We enjoyed sightseeing. we bought a lunch box and drunk a cup of coffee at the shop. 第二十四。金谷宿です。掛川宿から行きました。多くの宿の案内は駅の観光案内所にあるため、大井川に近い新金谷駅に向かいました。そこでは驚いたことにSLが煙をあげながら汽笛を鳴らしていました。向かいの売店でお弁当を買ったり、駅構内のカフェでコーヒーを飲んだり、しばしの観光を楽しみました。 And then, we walked at the old road for view historic sites and went up to the levee at the Oui-Gawa river. We could see the same view which Hiroshige could see the river. 第二十六、掛川宿です。11月三連休初日に日坂宿のあとに行きました。この日はここに投宿です。ここ掛川宿は掛川城の城下町でもあります。広重は二瀬川に架かる大池橋を描いていました。この大池橋は掛川市の中心部からやや離れていて、天竜浜松鉄道というのどかな電車で二駅目の西掛川駅から徒歩で五分ほどのところにありました。きちんと調べないと江戸時代の人のように街道をとぼとぼと歩いていくところでした。着いてみると、そこは県道415号線大池橋。かなりの交通量で現代的な立派な橋が架かっていました。 This is the 26th station, Kakegawa-Jyuku. My wife and I visited Kakegawa-Jyuku after Nissaka-Jyuku on the first day of last holiday in November. I stayed here on that day. Hiroshige Utagawa painted the Ouikebahi Bridge across Futasegawa River. This bridge was so far away from downtown in Kakegawa. So, we got on the local train called Tenhama-Sen. We can see and enjoy calm rural views. I got off at the Nishi-Kakegawa Station which is unmanned, and walked for five minutes. There was a big modern bridge and traffic was heavy on the bridge. いきなりですが、第二十五、日坂宿です。11月の三連休に行ってきました。広重が描いたのは、箱根峠や鈴鹿峠と並んで東海道の三大難所とされる小夜の中山です。現在はあまりの急さに通行止めとなっていました。なので小夜の中山の茶屋の近くの似た坂道を代わりにしました。 This is the 25th station, Nissaka-Jyuku. My wife and I went there for our last holiday in November. Hiroshige Utagawa painted a steep hillside. However, it is currently closed to traffic. Because there was nothing we could do, I painted similar slope in Sayo-no-Nakayama. 小夜の中山の扇屋さんという茶屋では、子育て飴という水飴が有名で、ひとつ頂きました。素朴でほんのりとした甘さの水飴でした。美味しかったです。 The teahouse named Ohgiya in Sayo-no-Nakayama is famous for the starch syrup called Kosodate-Ame. I bought one. It was simple, slightly sweet and delicious.  日坂宿は、小夜の中山の西側にあります。当時も小さな宿場だったようですが、現在は若いアーティストなどが活動の場としているようです。 宿場には必ず武士や役人などが休む本陣という宿がありますが、ここでは門のみで学校の運動場くらいの広場が向こうに広がっていました。 The Nissaka-Jyuku is located on the west side of Sayo-no-Nakayama.
