皆さんはペンにこだわりはありますか？わたしは正直いつも適当にペンを選んでいて、どこでも買えるドローイングペンかボールペンで描くことが大半です。ですが、先日これこそはわたしのためのペン！と思うものに出会いました。 Are you particular about pens? Honestly, I don't pay much attention to select art supplies in general and I mostly draw with a fine liner or ballpoint pen available everywhere. But lately I found a pen, THE pen, which works just right for me. これです。パイロットのパラレルペン、ニブ幅2.4 mm。最近こればかり使っているので、今回はそのスケッチをまとめてシェアしたいと思います。 It's a Pilot parallel pen with a 2.4 mm nib. I've been drawing with it quite a lot recently, so here I'm gonna be sharing my parallel pen sketches and a story behind. 初めてパラレルペンを使ったのは、先月大阪のアーバンスケッチャー、サマンサさんと一緒にスケッチし、彼女のペンをお借りしたときです。 I tried a parallel pen for the first time when I sketched with Samantha in Osaka and borrowed hers last month. ペン先がまったくコントロールできず、めしゃめしゃなのですが、その線の読めなさ、自由さが楽しく、東京に戻ったらすぐ買おうと思ったのでした。 My drawing was messy since I couldn't control the nib at all.   渋谷で夜景スケッチ会、Ｓｔｅｐｈａｎｉeの手ほどきを意識しつつ、遠近感を出せるようにしたつもりですが、まだまだですなー。 スクランブル交差点と言えば、行きかう人、人、人、人ばっっかり描いてたら時間切れ、色塗りは次の日に記憶を頼りにしました。     

今年のChicagoのSymposiumでお会いしたTakaさん、共通の知人で4年前のBarcelonaのSymposiumで出会ったRyojiさんと横浜探索スケッチ会がてらの親睦会をしました。少人数でのんびり、自分は異なる画材を時々に応じて使ってみました。まだどの画材がどんな場面にふさわしいか、毎度新鮮に迷います。

Jenny and Teoh from Singapore, Atsuko and I met in Ginza, Tokyo. We went to open market held by Tokyo Forum. Sketched shoppers( people in motion) there.( Teoh left then soon) Later after lunch, three of us ladies went to Ginza 6, a newly built department store, we captured the view seen from roof floor. It was fine day, the temperature was ideal for sketching. Enjoyed your company all!

１月２８日（土）春節がスタートということで、この日スケッチ会がありました。 総勢５人が横浜・石川町駅に１３時に集合。好天。 まず何はともあれ、重要目的である昼食を何処にするか。 皆中華街はほとんど知らないので適当モードで歩く中、 熱心な呼び込上手の兄さんに誘われ、中くらいの大きさのお店に入り、 いわゆるオーダーバイキングにしました。 安くて結構美味しくお腹一杯に。 凄い数の中華レストランがひしめいている中で恐らく大体皆このレベルを 保持かと思うと、さすがは横浜中華街です。   そしてぼちぼち腹ごなしスケッチ開始。各自持ち時間は一時間半。  集合場所で恒例の道端合同ショット。   私は赤ペンで３枚描きました。  （帰宅して色付け後の絵） 二枚目  （同上）  三枚目 （同上）  その後小さな古びたカフェで反省会とスケッチ。 それから占いの店に入ったり、飛び込んできた獅子舞に頭嚙んで貰ったりと、 なかなか楽しい旅でした。 高田馬場から湘南新宿ライン経由で片道一時間かかったけど、 美味しい食事と大規模中華街見学を兼ねて、また行っても良いかな～。 川村恵理子

Johanna from Germany whom I've met last summer in Manchester was visiting Japan. We met again in Tokyo. Including fellow sketcher Eriko, we visited Yoyogikoen station area, sketched non-picturesque but somewhat interesting view. Then after lunch before it got dark we sketched near by shrine called Yoyogi-Hachimangu. So lovely to see each and everyone's approach. This was beautiful and tranquil place.
