Wink and Squint : Draw correct proportion and capture light and shadow using primaries. Wink and Squint ( draw correct proportion and capture light and shadow using primaries)と題したWorkshopを持たせていただきます。 Overview This is a basic course to learn how to measure and draw the object's correct proportion. In the first half time you'll learn measuring method (just like art school students do) using handle of a pencil as measuring device. One important tip is to see things with one eye. This way you can see the vast view in front of you like seeing a flat picture. The second half time , you'll capture light and shadow using primary colors only. This helps you to avoid being obsessed with copping local colors, if anything, achieving harmonious order in the drawing. The tip here is to squint to see value.

Instant Urban Sketch Experience in Yotsuya Dessin <アーバンスケッチ体験 in 四谷デッサン会>

Image

Red Bricks building of Ichikawa

Image
Sketch from recent workshop in support of preserving red brick building in Ichikawa town with high schoolers. I was facilitator of a group of 4 high school girls. Three of them drew sketches too. After that we brain storm how to help preservation of Red Bricks Building of Ichikawa and spread information about it. There was a Ginkgo tree and it smelled strongly of it's seeds. This is the link to Tokyo University, though I, laughing. So, the suggestion of schoolers was to make a complex lesson of history, art and nature, using this location. Girls described their feelings during the drawing at the presentation. One of them said, that she realized this building has a soft character. We also met the other sketcher there.
