Meeting New Zealand sketcher Maki

Tasha, a contributor of Uraban Sketchers Japan, and I met Maki, a New Zealand sketcher in Kamakura, Kanagawa prefecture the other day while she was visiting her home country. Unfortunately the day we met was raining. But three girls made the most of the day, enjoyed talking all the time, strolling the alley, finding miscellaneous goods in a shop, having lunch at a restaurant where they serve stewed organic vegetables that are known as prestigious “ Kamakura Yasai”(vegetables made in kamakura), and visiting shrine and temples, and of course sketching in the rain!

I had really fun time. It was actually nice visiting old town in the rain. All the foliage and moss- covered stones were filled with thick foggy atmosphere, and that made the scene look dreamy and very Japanese in a way.
