World Sketching Tour 中の Luís Simõesさんが、一旦日光へ行った後、再び東京を訪れた際、東京のスケッチ仲間が集まってのスケッチ会の様子。 人形町の喫茶店内にて。 その後秋葉原に場所を移してほぼストリートパフォーマーみたいに行き交う人から声援されたり。 電気街の印象。

実はUrban Sketchers Portugalのcorrespondentで丁度東京を訪れていたWorld Sketching Tour中のLuís Simõesさんとスケッチしようと、仲間が集まったのですが、残念ながらその日Luísさんが体調不良のためスケッチ会に参加出来ませんでした。それでも残りの仲間でスケッチ会は滞り無く進められ、その日の上野公園の様々な表情をそれぞれのスタイル、マナーで描写してきました。 小出さんが描いていた騎馬像に触発され、私も描いてみました。（明治天皇像） 皆さんのスケッチresult。 同じ物を見てもそれぞれの捉え方があり、仲間の絵を見ると、あらためてその場所の魅力を再発見します。

Tasha, a contributor of Uraban Sketchers Japan, and I met Maki, a New Zealand sketcher in Kamakura, Kanagawa prefecture the other day while she was visiting her home country. Unfortunately the day we met was raining.But three girls made the most of the day, enjoyed talking all the time, strolling the alley, finding miscellaneous goods in a shop, having lunch at a restaurant where they serve stewed organic vegetables that are known as prestigious “ Kamakura Yasai”（vegetables made in kamakura), and visiting shrine and temples, and of course sketching in the rain! Lunch sketches Tsurugaoka Hachiman-gū ( shrine) Our result from Tsurugaoka Hachiman-gū Temple gate I had really fun time. It was actually nice visiting old town in the rain. All the foliage and moss- covered stones were filled with thick foggy atmosphere, and that made the scene look dreamy and very Japanese in a way.

This was my first time visiting Mount Takao . I knew it is not so far from my place but I have never headed to that direction until today. I'm glad I visited there. I took a cable car half way to the summit but when I went down, I walked all the way. I usually don't exercise very much therefore this was pretty good training to me. Unfortunately I was not able to see Mt. Fuji that day, it was too cloudy.(it must be seen when it is sunny) This place is famous for the beauty of autumn foliage. I definitely love to visit there again. After climbing, I put up my portable easel and made a quick sketch of a temple called “Yakuo-in” using crayons on the B2 illustration board.( See?, I brought these heavy equipment that day!)

学生時代に通っていた美術大学にて企画展示会があるというので、知人にさそわれ、久しぶりに訪れてみた。 道中、学校の側の、当時大好きでよく行ったラーメン店が今も繁盛していて、懐かしい味に出会えて嬉しかった。 帰りに、最寄り駅の立川の居酒屋で一杯。 駅反対側の別のお店でまた一杯。 学生の頃は通うだけで精一杯で、あまりその土地を散策できなかった。懐かしの街は発見のある新鮮な街でもある。

2020年のオリンピック開催都市に東京が選ばれた。実は、個人的にはそれを聞いた時、まさか、と思った。東京は大丈夫なんて言ってるけど、こんな地震国で、火山だっていつ噴火するかも解らず、原発の汚染水問題も、マイナス要因の方が多いんじゃないかと考えていたし、さらには被災して避難してる人の住居、仮設にせよそうでないにせよ、はるかに箱物より先に着手すべきものがあるだろうとも思っているし、２０２４年だっていいじゃないかとすら・・・しかし世界は東京を選んだのだ。逆に言えば、世界がずっと目を光らせて見守るなか、７年後に日本の底力を見せてみろと与えられた大きな課題。期待、応援、批判眼、複雑な気持ちを持ちつつ、きっとこれから日々めまぐるしく変わって行くであろう東京を、スケッチで記録して行こうと思う。 オリンピック開催都市として選ばれ、歓喜に沸いた日の翌日の東京都庁の様子。ひとけもまばらな月曜日の昼。横断幕が一枚吊るされただけの様子を、それでも記念にと写真に収める人たち。 After the announcement was made that Tokyo has been chosen to host 2020 Olympic Games, enthusiastic people gathered and made a formation that read “Thank you” at Metropolitan Government Office on September 8. The very next day, I visited there, not many people were visiting, no formation, but I saw some calm attitudes by the visitors to record this very special news by just taking photos of a banner displayed in front of the hall. “Celebration. The city that will host the Olympic and the Paralympics in 2020 was chosen. Thank you for your supports.” skift....
